Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University is committed to the development of mental health theory and practice. Distinguished members such as Dr. Honorio Delgado, the first rector of this institution, psychiatrist, and humanist, influenced the modernization and humanization of Peruvian psychiatry, placing it at the forefront of Latin American and global psychiatry. This legacy is continued by prominent graduates and teachers who assume influential roles in national and international mental health.
