Geriatric Assessment Instruments Research Group

The Geriatric Assessment Instruments Research Group develops, validates, and adapts geriatric assessment instruments for the comprehensive evaluation of older adults in physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions, among others, in accordance with the language, environment, and culture of our country for research purposes and for use by health professionals nationwide. Some of the instruments that have been validated are part of the assessment standards recommended by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and included in the Comprehensive Health Care Record for Older Adults (VACAM), which are used in primary care centers nationwide. It is important to validate instruments that are frequently used in research on older adults in other countries so that they are reliable in our population.
