Organization profile

The High Altitude Research Institute (IIA) was founded on September 21, 1961, together with Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University. Since its creation, it has focused on research into adaptation and acclimatization to high altitudes, as well as on finding solutions to the country's health problems.
