Organization profile
The Materials Science, Nanomaterials, Biomaterials, and Devices Laboratory studies the magnetotransport properties of graphene and graphene multilayers; cyclotron resonance, the quantum Hall effect, proximity effect, magnetoresistance, and phase transitions in planar and semimetallic systems; and the study of graphene and graphene multilayers for application in nano- and microelectronics. It also conducts research on biosensors applied to medicine, such as field-effect sensors and resonators. Another important area is the study of the physical properties of carbon and ceramic materials, which are evaluated as biocompatible materials, bioactivity, and their applications in the medical field. Porous ceramic nanomaterials, hydroxyapatite nanoparticles, and their applications in the medical field.
This unit focuses on research in the area of materials science, particularly graphene and graphene multilayers and the importance of their applications in microelectronics and nanoelectronics for the biomedical field. Another important area of development is research into nanoceramic materials based on calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, calcium oxide, and hydroxyapatite, the latter being of enormous relevance for dental and pharmaceutical applications.
