Organization profile
The Marine Science Laboratory conducts analyses of interstitial water in marine sediments, phytoplankton, organic matter in coastal marine sediments, siliceous remains in sediments, benthic foraminifera, and oceanographic data. In addition, it describes sediment cores and analyzes benthic biota in general.
Its objective is to generate knowledge about the quality of marine-coastal habitats, as well as the variability of paleoenvironments over time in relation to climatic conditions.
