Organization profile

The Evolutionary Ecology Laboratory investigates the environmental factors that influence plant ecology and evolution in arid and high Andean ecosystems. In particular, the focus is on understanding: - The mechanisms of plant response to environmental stress - Seed ecology (seed bank) - Patterns of plant diversity in arid zones - The ecology of native plants with agro-industrial value - Phenotypic plasticity mechanisms in heterogeneous environments Its importance lies in the fact that this team's research is motivated by a desire to understand, in order to conserve plant genetic resources and take advantage of the diversity of native plant resources
