Organization profile

The Translational Research and Computational Biology Laboratory is primarily interested in the interpretation of multi-omic Big Data in a biomedical and clinical setting. It analyzes omic data available in open resources in order to describe the biology of cancer. They also investigate mechanisms of cancer resistance in animals that may be useful for identifying new anticancer therapies in humans. They apply algorithms for mining, analyzing, and interpreting omic data (genomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic, epigenomic, proteomic), using bioinformatics resources. In addition, they logically integrate omic data to generate patterns that allow the prediction of an effect or behavior at the molecular level. They also investigate the reuse/repositioning of drugs and compounds in new indications, using in silico chemoinformatics approaches.
