Organization profile

The Micronutrient Laboratory conducts studies on the effect of supplementing nutrients present in native foods on lipid profiles and glucose levels; the antioxidant action of micronutrients and their preventive activity against cancer; serological markers of atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer in the Peruvian population; inflammation in orthodontic processes; and inhibition of microsomal transfer protein in the progression of NASH. We are an experimental laboratory that conducts biological trials for research projects and has the capacity to analyze micronutrients and antioxidants in biological samples and food. Over the years, we have trained researchers who are now deservedly recognized. We have contributed to the transfer of methodologies to different national and foreign institutions through training on request, carried out joint projects with companies, and participated as a laboratory in the assessment of the nutritional status of the population in terms of vitamin and mineral determination.
