Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Laboratory

The Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Laboratory specializes in the diagnosis of oral and maxillary mucosal lesions and is a national reference center. One of its objectives is to contribute to science by conducting basic research (histology, pathophysiology, anatomy, among others), clinical, imaging, and histopathological diagnosis, etc., and treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathology. It conducts research on oral and maxillary mucosal lesions, as well as histomorphometry studies, animal studies on bone regeneration, various materials, etc., filtration studies, diaphanization, studies on inflammatory response in tissues of various natural products, and histopathology studies of premalignant lesions and oral cancer.
