Data Science Unit

The Data Science Unit at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute of Tropical Medicine is dedicated to optimizing data management and analysis in health studies. We implement data governance policies that ensure ethics, security, and compliance with international regulatory standards. We have developed standardized operating procedures for data management and protection in various studies and have implemented platforms such as DMPT and REDCap for efficient management. We ensure data quality through automated flows and reports in R. Construction of infrastructures for processing large volumes of data, integrating tools such as chatbots with data management systems. Development of dashboards in Power BI and Shiny App to facilitate data analytics.
