Organization profile

Since its inception, the Tuberculosis and Respiratory Infections Research Unit (UTB) has conducted epidemiological, diagnostic, and treatment studies, participating in several high-impact studies worldwide (such as the Xpert MTB/RIF studies). In addition, it conducts basic science and immunology studies related to tuberculosis, as well as cost-effectiveness and qualitative studies. The UTB is made up of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates with the most important local, national, and international institutions focused on the fight against tuberculosis and respiratory infections.
