Organization profile

The Mental Health, Alcohol, and Drugs Unit develops training and research projects on the determinants of mental health problems and disorders in Peru with the ultimate goal of generating information for decision-making at both the policy level and in the design of interventions to reduce the prevalence of these problems. It seeks to promote the development of intervention models with a logic based on research. The study of preventive intervention models and the evaluation of intervention models and services for the treatment of mental health problems and alcohol and drug use is also a priority area of research. In addition, the unit has accumulated experience in the study of various forms of family and community violence.
