Biologist, senior lecturer in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Sciences, Faculty of Science and Engineering (FACI), Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University (UPCH), member of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute of Tropical Medicine (IMTAvH) - UPCH. She has experience in molecular and cellular biology acquired during her PhD, where she worked with Leishmania parasites (gene expression during the life cycle) at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, and at Maastricht University, Netherlands. Since 2003, he has coordinated the UPCH Malaria Laboratory in Lima and Iquitos, where they carry out various research projects ranging from basic training programs in microscopy to specialized laboratory techniques (qPCR, sequencing, protein expression, among others). Together with the group in charge of clinical, epidemiological, and vector biology activities, she conducts field studies in peri-urban and rural communities in the Loreto region. She has been involved in the organization of several training courses, including the Course/Workshop on Molecular Biology Techniques Applied to Infectious Diseases, which she organized continuously from 2003 to 2017. Between 2016 and 2020, she coordinated the Master's and Doctorate programs in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at FACI, and from 2018 to 2022, she coordinated the Doctorate Program in Life Sciences at the UPCH Graduate School (funded by CONCYTEC - World Bank). He is currently also a member of the Steering Committee of IMTAvH and the Research and Development Laboratories (LID) of FACI, and since July 2021 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Sciences (ANC) of Peru. He has advised 14 undergraduate thesis students, 12 master's thesis students, and 6 doctoral thesis students. He is currently advising two master's thesis students, two undergraduate thesis students, and one doctoral thesis student.
