Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the School of Public Health of the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University (UPCH). He is a member of the steering committee of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute of Tropical Medicine, where he also directs the Health Innovation Laboratory (InnovaLab). He holds a master's degree in epidemiology from UPCH and a doctorate in public health from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). In 2024, he was recognized as one of Latin America's Innovators Under 35 by MIT Technology Review. His research lies at the intersection of infectious disease epidemiology, climate change, human mobility, and the urban environment. He employs a diverse set of methods such as causal inference, spatiotemporal analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and remote sensing to advance the understanding of infectious disease dynamics in complex environmental contexts.
