Personal profile

As a research physician, I have been a member of the Cysticercosis Working Group in Peru for 20 years and am part of the Center for Global Health at Cayetano Heredia University, where I serve as a research associate and am responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and ethical and regulatory aspects of both clinical and preclinical research studies. My participation in this research group has allowed me to publish more than 20 articles on the subject in indexed journals, and I am currently the principal investigator of an animal model study funded by the NIH-US. I have been a member of the ethics committee of the U.S. Naval Medical Research Center Detachment in Peru for three years. I have completed two master’s degrees, one in Infectious Disease Control at Cayetano Heredia University in Peru and the second in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health (JHSPH). I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in the U.S. Locally, in collaboration with the Cysticercosis Working Group, we are developing a biosensor for the diagnosis of neurocysticercosis, which is funded by FONDECYT/CONCYTEC.
