Ph.D. in Science, Senior Professor and Research Professor at the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Cayetano Heredia University (UPCH), and RENACYT–CONCYTEC Distinguished Researcher. Winner of the 2019 L’Oréal–UNESCO–CONCYTEC–ANC National Award “For Women in Science.” She also won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the 14th Korea International Women’s Invention Exhibition (KIWIE 2021). She has an outstanding scientific track record, with 89 articles published in indexed international journals, as well as book chapters specializing in hematology, nitric oxide, the autonomic nervous system, high-altitude physiology, chronic mountain sickness, and the impact of hypoxia on humans and animals. She has also published numerous articles on biodiversity, environmental sciences, and innovation in fisheries, aquaculture, and aquaculture health. She has also published popular science works related to research management, technology transfer, intellectual property, and innovation. She is the author of two patents registered with INDECOPI and a guest speaker at numerous national and international scientific events. She has held key academic and scientific leadership positions at UPCH, including Dean of the Schools of Science and Engineering and of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science; Chair of the Department of Biological and Physiological Sciences; and University Director of Research, Science, and Technology within the Office of the Vice President for Research. She currently serves as Director of the Center for Research on Integral and Sustainable Development (CIDIS) and Executive Director of CITEacuícola UPCH. She has also led the design, development, and licensing process with SUNEDU for two new undergraduate programs: Marine Biology and Aquaculture Engineering, in addition to promoting specialized training programs, such as the Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Management. She has been recognized with awards and distinctions from the Hipólito Unanue Institute Foundation and ADEX. She received an honorary doctorate from the National University of Tumbes and was named an “Honorary Professor” by several Peruvian universities, including the National University of Tumbes, the National University Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo, and the University of San Pedro de Chimbote. She was also honored as a “Distinguished Visitor” by the National University of Piura and the National University Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo, and as a “Distinguished Guest” by the National University of Trujillo. She has been a fellow of the South-South Fellowship program of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), the Bolivian Institute of High-Altitude Biology, and the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD). She was also a Wellcome Trust fellow at the Physiology Laboratory at the University of Oxford in England. She has participated as a researcher in numerous international collaborative projects with prestigious academic and scientific institutions.
