I graduated in 2011 from the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University (UPCH) with a degree in medicine. As a student, I was interested in research and participated in fieldwork. In my final years at university, I became interested in chronic diseases, which motivated me to write my thesis for my degree in medicine on "High frequency of dyslipidemia and altered basal glycemia in a Peruvian population living at high altitude." After completing my studies, I decided to devote myself to research and worked as a field coordinator, gaining experience in budget management, staff recruitment, and teamwork. In 2014, I joined CRONICAS, the UPCH Center of Excellence for Research on Chronic Diseases, as a trainee and studied for a Master's Degree in Epidemiological Research with a specialization in Quantitative Methods at the UPCH. I have now completed my doctorate at the University of Geneva and am an Associate Researcher at CRONICAS-UPCH. In recent years, I have led research projects mainly related to diabetic foot, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as technological innovation projects to improve the quality of life of people who have suffered a stroke.
