Néstor Falcón Pérez, a veterinarian who graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) in 1995, holds a Master’s degree in Animal Health (2006) and pursued doctoral studies at the UNMSM School of Medicine (2008–2009). He is currently a faculty member at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at Cayetano Heredia University (FAVEZ – UPCH), in the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Public Health in Veterinary Medicine. He serves as the primary advisor for undergraduate and graduate thesis research in his specialty area and is the author and co-author of numerous scientific articles in his specialty and other areas of veterinary science, published in national and international journals. Additionally, he is the Editor of the Journal of Veterinary Health and Technology and a Member of the Peruvian Academy of Veterinary Sciences. Founder and permanent member of the SAPUVET-PERÚ volunteer group, winner of an international award granted by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Global Alliance for Rabies Control in the category “Most Successful Initiative by an NGO or Group at the Local Level,” and advisor to two undergraduate theses recognized with the Pan American “Pedro N. Acha Award for Excellence in Veterinary Public Health” organized by PAHO.
