Abstract

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) commonly present with cutaneous or mucocutaneous findings in the genital region, requiring dermatologists to be adept at recognizing a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. This chapter reviews the epidemiology, clinical features, diagnosis, and management of common and emerging genital STIs, with a focus on dermatologic presentation. Special attention is given to variations in presentation based on anatomical site, immunocompetence, and coinfections. The chapter also discusses considerations for screening, partner management, and patient education, emphasizing an inclusive, stigma-free approach to care.
