Resumen
Each psychiatric interview is unique. While the basic tenets of any psychiatric interview are consistent across settings and patients, the process of conducting an interview can be adapted to a specific clinical setting. The diverse settings of inpatient, consultation-liaison, emergency department, primary care, low resource areas, and telepsychiatry allow opportunities to adapt the psychiatric interview process to accommodate the clinical context. This chapter discusses the various aspects of adapting the psychiatric interview process to each of these unique settings, paying attention not only to the clinical setting itself, but at the same time considering relevant and pertinent sociocultural factors.
